We understand your needs on Education

A Critical Enabler

Education is one of the most critical building blocks for a nation’s future, helping shape the socio-economic future of an entire generation. This is even more imperative when you consider the facts of the situation. 240 million children in India are between the age group of 0-8 years, when they are most impressionable and receptive to learning.

What’s more, over 43% of children in India under the age of five are at risk of not fulfilling their full developmental potential due to the lack of social and educational support. This can hamper their growth and development, with effects felt into adulthood. Ponder this; India’s literacy rate is 78% as against the global average of 86%. And it gets even more grim. The nation is home to 37% of the global total population of illiterate adults, who earn 30%-42% less than their literate counterparts.

The argument can go on until kingdom come, but it all drives home a fundamental truth; there is an incredible relevance to getting the education equation right. And this is not just to influence future learning capacities, but also long-term economic, social and developmental factors that impact us all.

Building a Better Future

Currently, the Indian education system is beset by challenges on multiple fronts. This includes obsolete curriculum and textbooks, pedagogy that needs to be updated, learning losses among children (exacerbated by school closures), unequal access to quality institutions, dated infrastructure, and more.

These challenges must be tackled head-on, in a comprehensive and holistic manner by devising solutions that help each stakeholder of the Education System (such as students, educators, parents, and administrators) reach their learning and developmental goals. And a few outstanding institutions are doing yeoman’s work to ensure that the greater needs of not just the education ecosystem, but the nation-building agenda, are being met. It is their efforts that we laud in the inaugural edition of Name.
